Summer Art Camps are back for 2026!
Join us at the River Art Centre (8746 Main St., Florenceville-Bristol) for another exciting summer of creativity! This year’s camps are open to ages 5-14, and 15+, and we’re delighted to welcome Mahala McIntosh as our instructor.

Exploring Art
Ages 5/6 /1-Day Camp /Friday /3:00pm-4:30pm daily / $20
The three workshops for ages 5–6 will introduce young artists to painting, stamp drawing, and sculpting with play dough through fun, hands-on activities designed for shorter camp sessions. Children will explore colours, textures, and shapes, while building confidence in making art and experimenting with different materials.

Hands-on Painting, July 7-9
Ages 7-9 / 3-Day Camp /Tuesday – Thursday /9:00am-11:00am daily / $45
In this Art Camp participants will explore painting through fun, hands-on projects using watercolours, acrylics, and printmaking techniques. They’ll learn about colour mixing, texture, and creative painting methods while creating their own original work.
Drawing Outside the Lines, July 14-16
Ages 7-9 / 3-Day Camp /Tuesday – Thursday /9:00am-11:00am daily / $45
In Drawing Outside the Lines, campers will explore creative drawing techniques using pencils, charcoal, and chalk pastels while learning about line, texture, light, and colour blending. This camp will include imaginative activities, music-inspired art, and observational sketching. Campers will create detailed creatures, abstract artworks, and their own mini sketchbooks.
Clay, July 21-23
Ages 7-9 / 3-Day Camp /Tuesday – Thursday /9:00am-11:00am daily / $45
In this Art Camp, campers will learn how to work with and sculpt stoneware clay, to model and glaze their own coil pots, pinch pots, 3D sculptures, and more! Everything participants make during this Summer Art Camp will be kiln-fired and available for pickup in late August.
Building with Paper, August 11-13
Ages 7-9 / 3-Day Camp /Tuesday – Thursday /9:00am-11:00am daily / $45
In this Summer Art Camp, campers will learn a number of different ways to make 2D and 3D art using paper, including papier machee, collage, paper weaving, mask making, and more!
STEAM Camp: Science & Art, August 18-20
Ages 7-9 / 3-Day Camp /Tuesday – Thursday /9:00am-11:00am daily / $45
In this Science and Art Summer Camp, participants will explore a number of different ways to make art using science and things from the natural world. Some of the activities we will do include cyanotype photography (no cameras required!), making paint from scratch, and making nature art journals on the Walking Trail near the ALMAG.

Making Comic Books, August 11-13
Ages 10-14 / 3-Day Camp /Tuesday – Thursday /1:00pm-4:00pm daily / $60
In this camp, participants will learn how to make their own comic books from scratch. This includes how to make their own books, how to storyboard, ways of designing characters, coming up with plots, and about different styles of comic books through the years. By the end of the Summer Art Camp. participants will have their own completed comic book to take home with them.

All about Sculpture, July 28-31
Ages 15+ / 4-Day Camp /Tuesday-Friday /9:30am-5:00pm daily / $100 EARLY BIRD until June 15, 2026. Then $130
In this 15+ Art Camp, participants will explore a wide variety of sculptural techniques for making 3D art using pottery clay, paper, and cardboard models, sewing/doll making, plaster casting, and more!
