School Visits

Connection with art helps students to express themselves in meaningful ways, while fostering creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking. Our school tours allow students to create and view art, which in turn helps the student gain observation and communication skills, while learning to interpret ideas through different lenses. Exposure to art experiences allows space for reflection, imagination, and kinesthetic learning, while also developing empathy and a more expansive view of the world around them.

The Andrew & Laura McCain Art Gallery offers educational guided tours from experienced staff, a lesson in art history, as well as an art activity relevant to the current show.

Art supplies for the activity are provided by the gallery. If your class uses sketchbooks, and you’d like their activity to be completed within it, please let us know in the comment section of your booking.
