Public Show and Consultation

The Andrew & Laura McCain Art Gallery, in partnership with the District of Carleton North, invites you to have your say in selecting a new public artwork for the R.G. Bun Veysey Active Living Centre!

Three New Brunswick artists have been shortlisted for this exciting project, each tasked with creating a piece that reflects the Centre’s role as a vibrant gathering space for activities ranging from athletics to Zumba.

The artists are currently developing their concepts, and their scale models (maquettes) will be on display in the Community Room at the R.G. Bun Veysey Active Living Centre from February 3-7, 2025. We encourage you to drop by, explore their proposals, and share your feedback.

For those interested in meeting the artists, join us on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at the R.G. Bun Veysey Active Living Centre (40 McCain St, Florenceville-Bristol) from 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM

If the Anglophone West School District declares a snow day, the meet and greet will be rescheduled to February 18, 2025.

We look forward to your participation in shaping this meaningful addition to our community space!

Meet the three shortlisted artists

All three are familiar with the District of Carleton North, having exhibited at the Andrew and
Laura McCain Art Gallery in the past few years, and some have hosted workshops at the River
Arts Centre. You’re likely to have seen them contribute to the Gallery’s annual pARTicipate
festival and all three exhibited work in Small Works, 2024 at the Gallery.
