Art in the Schools
Art in the Classroom
The Art in the Classroom program, sponsored by The Andrew & Laura McCain Art Gallery, loans original artworks to teachers in Anglophone School District West. The art is installed in their classroom for three weeks. Each artwork is accompanied by rich cross-curricular resources, filled with ideas for teaching and learning. The package also includes a collection of books that make literacy connections with the artwork. The packages include:
- Colin Smith’s One Kilometre of Florenceville
- Irene Tompkins’ Landscapes and Bouquets
- Alanna Baird’s Radial Symmetry (with a seashore theme)
- Suzanne Hill’s Rehearsal I (A Dancer’s Story)
- Public Art – Featuring the Maquette for Stephen Hutchings’ Marich Pole
- Francine Martin’s Printemps Rose (Apple Blossoms) and Chinese Lanterns
- Natt Cann’s Neighbours
Contact the Gallery or Susan Galbraith to reserve a package.
This project is made possible by support from the The Rotary Club of Florenceville, Sheila Hugh MacKay Foundation, Carleton North Community Foundation, and Anglophone School District – West.
