DESCRIPTION:This exhibition features the latest work from the Emerge Collective\, based out of Fredericton\, New Brunswick. A formidable force of seven artists\, the Emerge Collective includes Larry Holder\, Alison Green\, Mark Cameron\, Biff Mitchell\, Tanya Thompson\, Michael Doucet and Dawn Steeves.\nFor the last year\, members of the Emerge Collective have been pondering the affects of music on their lives. There is no denying that music – certain artists\, songs and lyrics in particular – have a hand in molding our personalities and life perspective.\nThis body of work illustrates the strong influence that music can have shaping our thoughts – in this case the artists explore how musical lyrics lend to their feelings about the impact of technology on society and the environment.\nTo start the project\, each artist selected an excerpt from a song that has an environmental theme that created a strong image in their head – something they could translate visually. Their resulting works offer a concrete interpretation of their musical visions that provoke the audience to consider these same environmental issues.\nThe show features a variety of media\, reflecting the wide range of materials and approaches of the current membership\, including oil and acrylic paintings\, sculpture\, fibre art\, photography and music.

DESCRIPTION:Opening Reception on Saturday\, May 14th\, 1:00 pm\nThis annual showcase of work from Florenceville Elementary School features artwork created by students K – Gr. 5 \nIt is a wonderful celebration of creativity\, fostered and encouraged by the all-star cast of teachers and staff at FES\, who place great value and understand the benefits of incorporating the arts into daily curriculum. The gallery takes great pleasure in collaborating with FES to enrich the students arts programming and ultimately strengthening the community through art and creativity.
