The Government of New Brunswick
The Government of NB’s Department of Tourism, Heritage & Culture continues to be a significant supporter and resource for the development of creative initiatives in support of the arts for our region.
The Board of Directors is grateful for the support of the New Brunswick Government. Having received a number of grants in 2019 we are only too aware that each grant made a significant difference to the success of our programmes, to the operations of the Gallery and support the River Arts Centre, and through us, the Visual Arts and artists in our region.
The Andrew & Laura McCain Art Gallery is so pleased to be the recipient of SEED funding again this year in a competitive environment. The Gallery has benefited greatly in past years from this programme and will do so again this summer.
In the summer of 2019, the Gallery received a New Brunswick Community Investment Fund grant as well as a PETYL Grant to launch the first annual pARTicipate Arts & Nature Festival, in partnership with the Town of Florenceville-Bristol and Second Wind Music Centre. It was a great success and we were able to garner a variety of sponsors from our community and other granting organizations. The response from participants was very positive and we move forward confirmed in our belief that there is a desire for a festival such as this one in our area.
In 2019 through 2021 the Department has awarded the Gallery $12,000 annually toward operating expenses.
In 2017 and 2018 the department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture granted the Andrew & Laura McCain Art Gallery $14,000 toward operating expenses.
In 2017 the Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture granted the Andrew & Laura McCain Art Gallery a $20,000 Strategic Initiative Grant for a Pilot Public Art project, resulting in the installation of Mirror, 2018 by Deanna Musgrave at the Carleton North High School and the establishment of a Public Art Committee for the Town of Florenceville-Bristol.
