Exhibition & Event Opportunities

Exhibition Proposals:

The Andrew & Laura McCain Art Gallery provides a year-round, professional venue and has been exhibiting local and regional artists for over thirty years – cultivating a broader appreciation and knowledge of the arts in New Brunswick.

How to Apply: Andrew & Laura McCain Art Gallery Exhibition Proposals

Exhibit proposals are gladly accepted on an ongoing basis throughout the year and reviewed biannually with exhibitions scheduled approximately 6 months in advance.

In choosing exhibitions, The Andrew & Laura McCain Art Gallery maintains a balanced schedule of professional and emerging artist work from the local community and beyond. The Gallery is also dedicated to exhibiting children’s art and student work created in local-area schools and through Gallery arts programming.

Applications must include:

Exhibition Proposal Checklist (please note that only completed proposal applications will be accepted for review).

  • Full description of proposed exhibition
  • Artist Statement(s) (500 words or less)
  • Artist bio(s) (250 words or less)
  • Arts CV(s) (*For all text a digital copy is preferred over a hard copy)
  • 10 digital (JPEG) images of work, submitted via email (website links to supplementary visual materials also welcome) with an accompanying image list specifying titles of work(s), media, dimensions and year of work(s).
  • Upon selection for exhibition – read, agree to and sign Exhibition Agreement.
  • Completed Exhibition Proposal Form

Further Display Opportunities

In addition to the main exhibition space, the Andrew & Laura McCain Art Gallery hosts a year-round exhibit of local and regional artists’ work in their Stairwell Gallery. The work exhibited in the stairwell is for sale and rotated on a quarterly basis.

The Gallery also collaborates with local businesses who are interested in displaying artwork in their offices and/or storefronts by connecting them with artists who are looking for alternatives venues for displaying their work.

Studio Space Rentals

Available Now – Studio space at the River Art Centre & Studios (an annex of the Andrew & Laura McCain Art Gallery)

The Andrew & Laura McCain Art Gallery is seeking visual artists to occupy both private and shared studio space at the River Art Centre & Studios, located at 8746 Main St in Florenceville-Bristol. Already occupied by talented artists James Buxton, Colin Smith and Monike Hawkes-Frost, this beautiful studio space boasts large windows with ample natural light and is sure to inspire visual artists with backgrounds in a variety of mediums!
