The Andrew & Laura McCain Art Gallery is excited that you are considering our Main Street annex building – the River Art Centre & Studios – as a place to pursue your art. We are a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to increase access, awareness and an appreciation of art in our community.
Our vision for the River Art Centre & Studios is to provide affordable working studio space for artists to create, exhibit, teach and sell art and to provide a place for the community to gather, learn, and participate in the experience of art.

STUDIO RENTAL INFO

The primary use of the studio space in the River Art Centre & Studios building is for creating art, however, studios should also be used for displaying and selling. We hope to create a partnership with studio artists and provide a space where artists’ creativity and businesses will thrive.

APPLICATION PROCESS

The application process is as follows:

-Complete and submit the Studio Application Form
-Upon acceptance you will then be asked for the first terms rent and security deposit.
-After the first month rent and security deposit are deposited, a move in date will be determined, at which time the artist will receive access to the studio by way of key card.

The River Art Centre & Studios is looking for artists who:

-Are 19 years of age or older
-Are emerging, mid-career or seasoned artists
-Are serious about pursuing their art in the professional setting of a communal facility
-Primarily want to use the studio for creating art
-Demonstrate a commitment to their career through an existing body of work
-Display obvious talent and have nurtured an individual vision
-Are creating original art (the art must be the artist’s original concept and produced by the artist)
-Show proven ability in their chosen medium through some combination of the following:
:Participation in juried shows
:Professional experience
:Or in the case of emerging artists, a reference from a mentor, presentation of portfolio, or photos for review by ALMAG.

STUDIO SPACE OPTIONS

Private Studio $125/month

Includes:
:Individual studio with locked door
:Access to power
:Wi-fi (currently provided but not guaranteed)
:Use of shared space, including upstairs shared sink area and kitchen
:Use of meeting and teaching spaces on a first come first serve basis
:Use of studio equipment as available
:Personal key card

Semi-Private Studio $75/month

Individual 8′ x 10′ studio area which includes:

:Access to power
:Wi-fi (currently provided but not guaranteed)
:Designated locker (provide own lock)
:Use of shared space, including upstairs shared sink area and kitchen
:Use of meeting and teaching spaces on a first come first serve basis, subject to rental fees
:Use of studio equipment as available
:Personal key card

Studio membership $30/month

For artists with limited time for studio work, life-long learners interested in art, or those simply wishing to support the art studio, a studio membership includes:
:Occasional use in the designated shared studio space
:Designated locker as available (must provide own lock) belongings are not to be left in studio outside of designated locker
:Wi-fi (currently provided but not guaranteed)
:Personal key card
