Our Sponsors & Supporters
The Carleton North Community Foundation is a big supporter of art education programming at the Gallery. This year, the Gallery was granted $19,050 to fund our Art in Schools Program that supports all Carleton North Feeder Schools. With these funds we were able to offer: In-Class visits lead by our Art Education Coordinator that support teachers by leading art lessons based on curriculum outcomes or specific mediums; Art Afternoons, where local artists are invited to lead art… lessons and the entire school participates all at once; 6 week Afterschool Art Clubs lead by our Art Education Coordinator in partnership with a local artist; and our annual Student Showcase, this year displaying the works of FES K-5 students in the main exhibition hall of the Gallery. On behalf of the Gallery Board and Staff, we extend our thanks to the CNCF for their support. More information about the Foundation can be found at http://cncfdn.com/.
The Sheila Hugh Mackay Foundation is a significant and important supporter of the arts in Carleton County through its support in the development of the River Art Centre Studios at the Andrew & Laura McCain Art Gallery. Through their support, the River Art Centre Studios were renovated in 2016 to become a more flexible creative space. The main studio can now be easily adapted to a variety of artistic pursuits. In the spirit of its founder, Sheila Hugh Mackay, the foundation has successfully enriched the creative makers in our community through its infrastructure grant program. The changes to the studio provide everyone in our community opportunity to explore and develop their creativity in a wonderful environment that can support new initiatives and collaborations. On behalf of the ALMAG Board of Directors, staff and community we extend our sincere thanks to the Sheila Hugh Mackay Foundation for their generosity.
