Michael has been an aspiring artist since childhood and has been a professional artist, graphic designer and production technician for over 25 years. Michael’s area of expertise is digital art and bringing credibility to digital art as an accepted medium in the art world has been one of his missions.
Michael has more recently focused on traditional art as a sculptor which gives him a great deal of satisfaction and a sense of balance within various mediums.
Michael worked as a graphic designer and screen printer in a sport store in 1988, and then in 1989 he began working for a leading promotional products company, Valley Graphics Ltd. where he remained for 25 years. During this time, he spent his spare time experimenting and developing skills in a variety of software as a visual art medium.
Some of Michael’s artistic and professional skills include; drawing, painting, sculpting, digital art, photo restoration, image manipulation, graphic design, logo design, sign-making, screen printing, embroidery production, embroidery design and digitizing, textile manipulation and decoration, laser-etching and cutting.
Currently working as an art preparator at The Beaverbrook Art Gallery, Michael is furthering his knowledge of fine art and developing technical skills in installations, framing, handling and showing of art in a leading-edge art gallery as well as meeting the needs of artists and those who appreciate art.
